SCOPE OF APPLICATION

As a sealing coat over all Hauptmann epoxy and cement-polymer coatings, as well as for fixing and sealing decorative chips.

Application examples:

  • сwarehouses;
  • production facilities;
  • garages;
  • multi-level car parks;
  • balconies;
  • pedestal surfaces;
  • workshops.

Product properties

  • low odor;
  • vapor-permeable;
  • mechanical and chemical load carrying ability;
  • UV resistance.

BASE

The subfloor with applied Hauptmann coating should be free of substances that may prevent adhesion and shall be a clean surface. Sealing coating should be applied within 48 hours after basic coating application. If sealing coating is to be applied later, the surface should be blasted with an abrasive tool prior to application and then the dust should be thoroughly removed.

APPLICATION NOTES

The material, air and base temperature shall not be lower than +8°C and not higher than +25 °C. At temperatures > +20 °C dilute the product with water (10%). Relative humidity should not exceed 80%. If relative humidity is > 60 %, good air circulation should be ensured.

The base temperature should be at least +3°C above the dew point temperature. Stir the material until homogeneous before application. Ensure that no material overlapping occurs on areas with the material already applied. Depending on the surface area to be treated, it is recommended to use at least 2 workers and to apply the material crosswise, this will allow to obtain a uniform coating: one or more persons apply the material in one direction, and one immediately rolls across (at 90° angle) with a 50 cm roller for epoxy resins and spreads the material evenly, strip by strip. After 30 minutes of work, replace the rollers with new ones. During the same time you should use up the started package. Too prolonged use of roller and material will result in increased gloss and visible roller marks. Avoid formation of puddles.

Drying time:

At a temperature of +20°C and relative humidity of 60% the surface can be subjected to pedestrian loads after 24 hours, mechanical loads after 3 days, complete hardening occurs after 7 days. Lower temperatures increase drying time.

SPECIAL NOTES

All these values and consumption rates were obtained in laboratory conditions at +20 °C. Minor deviations from the specified values are possible when the work is performed at the facility. In case of increased appearance or mechanical load requirements, as well as coating with decorative chips, the sealing coating should be applied in several layers. Abrasive mechanical loads result in wear marks on the coating surface. Uneven application, drafts and temperature variations can lead to uneven coatings due to varying degrees of gloss. Hauptmann Lack 2K is highly resistant to heated car tires.

WORKING TOOL, CLEANING

Clean tools and any contamination when fresh with water.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Gloves, goggles, splash protection, long sleeve clothing or protective cuffs.

Observe special precautions when spraying materials. Use a respirator.

CONSUMPTION AND STORAGE

Product consumption:

Material consumption depends on the base condition and is about 0.1-0.2 kg/m2.

Product storage:

Store in sealed factory packaging in cool, enclosed warehouses at a temperature of at least +5 °C.

 Shelf life is at least 6 months.
