Unpigmented epoxy resin based binder for chips and loose coatings or as a base primer/impregnator.
Colorless two-component liquid epoxy resin mortar for creating bisphenol A based poured flooring:
The base should be load-bearing and sound, free of loose particles, dust, surface oil, grease, rubber abrasion products, and free from all other substances interfering with adhesion. Surface tensile strength of the base should have an average value of 1.5 N/mm2 and compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm2.
Surfaces should have evenly distributed humidity:
- concrete max. 4 wt%
- cement screeds max. 4 wt%
Through appropriate measures, prepare the base so that it meets the required qualities (shot blasting, milling). Potholes and irregularities in the surface should first be filled with Hauptmann Epo 320.
Add hardener B to the main mass A. Stir vigorously with a stirrer, transfer the mixture to another container and stir again thoroughly.
For filled systems, add the filler to the epoxy resin mixture while stirring slowly and then mix thoroughly.
Apply the ready mixture to the surface with a suitable tool and spread it well.
ПAt a temperature of +20°C and relative humidity of 60% the mortar can be used for about 20 minutes. The material viability is reduced by higher temperatures, and is increased by lower temperatures.
Application:
A toothed trowel, epoxy rollers, or rubber scrapers may be used.
Break times:
At +20°C, the break time between processing is a minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of 48 hours. For process break periods exceeding 48 hours, the surface of the previous coat should be backfilled with calcined quartz sand. Specified time ranges are reduced with higher temperatures and are increased at lower temperatures accordingly.
Processing temperature:
Ambient, material and base temperature should be between +8 and +30 °C. Relative humidity should not exceed 80%. The base temperature should be at least 3°C above the dew point temperature.
Drying time:
At temperature of +20 °C and relative humidity of 60%:
- can be walked on after 12 hours
- mechanical loads after 2 days
- complete hardening after 7 days At a lower temperature it is respectively longer.
During curing (about 24 hours at +20°C), the applied material should be protected from moisture, otherwise curing problems in some areas or surface irregularities may occur.
Primer:
Hauptmann Epo 420 product is applied as a primer with epoxy roller. Product consumption is 0.2 - 0.4 kg/m2 depending on the surface.
Fixing coat for backfill:
Hauptmann Epo 420 product is spread on the surface with a toothed paint scraper at a rate of 0.5-1 kg/m2 After the fixing coat is laid, without waiting for drying, add 0.4-0.8 mm fraction sand on the surface until fully saturated. After the resin has cured, remove the loose sand with brushes or vacuum cleaner.
Finishing coat for quartz sand sealing:
Hauptmann Epo 420 product is applied with a rubber wiper or iron paint scraper depending on the specified roughness, the resulting coating is smoothed with an epoxy roller. Product consumption is 0.6-0.9 kg/m2.
Pore filler:
Apply a sufficient amount of pure resin to the surface, then spread it with a suitable tool, e.g. rubber wiper, and then work through with a texture roller so that an even surface structure is formed. Consumption is 0.3 - 0.5 kg/m2 depending on base and application.
Working tools and possible contaminants should be cleaned immediately after operation with solvent.
All of the above tests were measured under laboratory conditions (+20 °C). When working on construction sites, it is possible to obtain slightly different values. Grinding mechanical loads cause wear marks on the coating surface. Not suitable for machinery with metal and polyamide tires.
Consumption:
Product consumption averages 0.1-0.3 kg/m2.
Product storage:
Store in sealed factory packaging in cool, enclosed storage areas at a temperature of at least +5°C.
Shelf life is at least 6 months.
