HAUPTMANN GRUND STYRENE-ACRYLATE PRIMER

PROPERTIES

• strengthens the surface base; 
•  reduces hygroscopic properties of the base; 
• for interior and exterior works.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

Hauptmann Grund is used for surface reinforcement and impregnation of porous, weak and highly absorbent mineral bases (lightweight concrete, cement screed) inside and outside buildings.

BASE

The base should be load-bearing, durable and resistant to deformation, free of separating particles, dust, oils, grease, products of rubber wear and other substances that prevent adhesion.

BASE PREPARATION

Through appropriate measures, prepare the base so that it meets the required qualities (shot blasting, diamond grinding). 

Apply the primer to the base with a roller or brush in 1 or 2 coats (depending on absorbing capacity of the base surface) with an interval of at least 1 hour. If after drying of the first coat the base is still strongly absorbing water, the priming should be repeated. Subsequent operations after priming should be performed no earlier than 4 hours later.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The work shall be performed in dry conditions at air and base temperature of +5°C to +25°C and relative humidity of less than 80%. All specified parameters are valid at air temperature of +20°C and relative humidity of 60%. In other conditions material drying time may change.

WORKING TOOL, CLEANING

Working tools and possible contaminants should be cleaned immediately after operation with water.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Gloves, goggles, splash protection, long sleeve clothing or armbands.

PRODUCT CONSUMPTION:

Material consumption depends on the structure of the base and is about 0.15 - 0.4 kg/m² per coat.

PRODUCT STORAGE:

Store in sealed factory packaging in cool, enclosed storage areas at a temperature of at least +5°C.
Shelf life is at least 6 months.
