HAUPTMANN TOR 2K MICROCEMENT

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

Hauptmann Top 2K is used in administrative buildings with high operating conditions.

Application examples:

• administrative premises; 
• apartments; restaurants; 
• stores; 
• bathrooms; 
• for manufacture of decorative coatings on facades, furniture, wood, plasterboard.

PRODUCT PROPERTIES

Hauptmann Top 2K is a pigmented two-component coating based on acrylate resins.

BASE

The base for seamless poured floors should have a load-bearing capacity, be solid, clean from peelable elements, dust, oil and grease stains, rubber and tire marks and other separating substances. 

Tensile strength of the base should be on average 1.5 N/mm2 and compressive strength - not less than 25 N/mm2. The base should reach a certain equilibrium moisture content and should be protected against moisture effects from the inside during operation. 

Surfaces should have an equilibrium moisture content: 

- concrete - max. 4 wt% 

 - cement seamless floor - max. 4 wt%

BASE PREPARATION

Bases should be suitably prepared to meet all of the above requirements, e.g. by shot blasting or diamond grinding. Chips and damaged areas of the base should be repaired with Hauptmann Epo 320.

BASE COURSE PREPARATION

Make sure to add component B to component A completely and stir the mixture. The prepared mixture is applied immediately to the prepared surface and spreaded with a suitable tool.

MATERIAL PROCESSING TIME

At a temperature of +20°С ±2°С and relative humidity of 65% ±5% the mortar can be used for about 45 minutes. As the temperature increases, processing time decreases, and as the temperature decreases, processing time increases.

PROCESSING TIPS

Processing temperature: 

Material, ambient and base temperatures should be no lower than +8 °C, and no higher than + 30 °C. Relative humidity should not exceed 80%. The base temperature should be at least 3 °C above the dew point temperature. 

Drying time: 

The coating is ready for further processing at +20 °C - approx. in 4 hours, and at +8 °C - approx. in 12 hours. Lower temperatures extend product drying time. If the temperature or humidity changes during material application, the color may change slightly.

APPLICATION EXAMPLES

Prime the surface with Hauptmann Epo 420 primer and cover with 0.4 - 0.8 mm fraction quartz sand. For highly absorbent bases it is recommended to prime the surface twice. 

Sealing coating: 

Hauptmann Top 2K microcement is applied with an iron paint scraper. Product consumption is 0.2-2 kg/m2. 

Finishing coat: 

Hauptmann Lack 2K varnish is applied to the surface at a rate of 0.1-0.2 kg/m2 with a nylon roller. 

All the above technical data were obtained when testing the product with standard colors in the laboratory (+20°С ±2°С). Minor deviations from the values can occur during product processing at the facility. Minor deviations in product color from different batches are possible. Product from the same batch should be processed on adjacent surfaces. 

Under the influence of ultraviolet radiation and atmospheric loads the color of epoxy coating may change. 

Colorfastness of the coating can be improved by applying a protective UV-absorbing polyurethane-based sealing coating.

WORKING TOOL, CLEANING

Working tools and possible contaminants should be cleaned immediately after operation with water.

CONSUMPTION AND STORAGE

Product consumption: 

Material consumption is 0.25 to 2 kg/m2. 

Storage conditions: 

Store in sealed factory packaging on pallets, in cool storage areas at a temperature of at least +8°C. 

Shelf life is at least 6 months.
